"REFLEXE AUF MAJOLIKA" (Reflections on majolica)
Gumden, 17th July - 11th September 2010

The water of Traunsee Lake, which sparkles in incredibly varied shades of colour, with its waves that so often crash down, foam-topped, inspired the artist during his first visit to the town of ceramics, Gmunden, in 2009, to numerous new creations, which now, for the first time, can be appreciated at the REFLECTIONS ON MAJOLICA exhibition in the K-Hof museum in Gmunden.

The “waves” in their most varied forms and shades constitute one of the key focuses of this exhibition. The ceramic panels are of great scenic effect, like “Scogliera di Creta notturna” (“Crete cliffs by night”) or “Il vecchio ulivo e il mare” (“The old olive tree and the sea”), give a sense of the Mediterranean, whilst, amongst the others, “Odysseus and the sirens’ song” recalls a scene from Greek mythology.

I do hope that this extraordinary exhibition will receive a great many interested visitors, who will allow themselves to be charmed by the evocative works of Goffredo Gaeta.
